Plastic end plugs are components designed for use with curved tubular products. Due to their curved geometry, securing them can be challenging; consequently, improper alignment or seating of the plastic plug at the tube's end sometimes occurs during installation. In the prior art, installation is typically achieved through either direct welding or threaded sealing. Direct welding involves joining a custom-fabricated plug to the product via welding-followed by subsequent processing to meet specific product specifications-and is theoretically capable of withstanding pressures of up to 200 MPa. Threaded sealing involves fastening a machined plug to the product using screws-again, followed by processing to meet product requirements-and is theoretically capable of withstanding high pressures of up to 300 MPa. However, the welding method is susceptible to human error and can easily lead to product deformation, while the threaded method involves a complex and cumbersome manufacturing process. Both welding and threaded fastening methods rely heavily on manual operation, which further compromises installation precision and efficiency.

 

The objective of the present utility model is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art by providing a holding device for plastic plug assembly that features a high degree of automation and enhances product quality.

 

This holding device for plastic plug installation-specifically designed for fitting plugs into curved elbows-comprises a base, an elbow support block mounted on the base, and an automated plug assembly mechanism also mounted on the base. During operation, the plug-receiving end of the elbow and the plug itself are positioned within the automated plug assembly mechanism, while the remainder of the elbow (i.e., the section excluding the plug-receiving end) is supported by the elbow support block.

 

Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating embodiments of the present utility model, the technical means employed in these embodiments will be clearly and comprehensively described. It is to be understood, however, that the described embodiments represent only a subset-and not the entirety-of the possible embodiments of this utility model. Furthermore, based on the embodiments disclosed herein, any other embodiments derived by a person skilled in the art without the exercise of inventive labor shall be deemed to fall within the scope of protection of the present utility model. The holding device for assembling plastic plugs-specifically designed for plastic plugs featuring a base (I)-is mounted on the base (I) itself, as well as on the dome-head support blocks (3) and the dome head (4) of the automatic plug assembly mechanism (2), which are respectively installed on said base (I). The plug-mounting section of the aforementioned dome head, along with the plug itself, is positioned on the automatic plug assembly mechanism (2). In addition to the plug-mounting section of the aforementioned dome head (4),
the plastic plug assembly device is equipped with three dome-head support blocks (3), each designed to support a distinct section of the dome head, thereby providing enhanced protection for the dome head (4). The dome-head support blocks feature fixtures designed to secure the dome head, thereby improving the stability of its fixation. The dome-head support blocks are secured to the base via threaded connections, allowing for detachability and enhancing the overall flexibility of the system.


The automatic plug assembly mechanism (2) comprises: an operating platform (21), which is equipped with positioning guides designed to prevent misalignment between the dome head and the plug; and a plug pressing block (22), which installs the plug by directly pressing it into the dome head. This utility model further includes a control module connected to the plug pressing block. The control module consists of a controller, a pressure sensor, and a driver, all interconnected; the pressure sensor is mounted on the pressing surface of the plug pressing block, while the driver is mechanically coupled to the plug pressing block, thereby significantly elevating the level of automation.
